Ricoh Ri 4000 - Using a jig to clean the head automatically

1. Place the Head Cleaning JIG II on a flat desk.
2. Set the 2 absorbers (Type P1) to the Head Cleaning JIG II
3. Push in the three holes on the absorber (Type P1) by finger.
4. Soak up the cleaning liquid up to the 2 scales of the dropper
5. Apply 2 scales of cleaning liquid to the area shown below on the absorber (Type P1)
6. Repeat Step 4 and 5 to apply cleaning liquid to another absorber (Type P1).
7. Remove the platen and platen frame from platen base.
8. Insert the protrusion on the back of the Head Cleaning JIG II into the hole on the platen base.
Securely insert it all the way in.
9. Press the Maintenance tab.
10. Press [JIG HEAD MAINTENANCE].
11. Press [INK].
12. Press [CLEANING].
13. Check the message, and then press [START].
The platen, with its Head Cleaning JIG II, moves into the machine and starts cleaning the selected head.
When the first cleaning is completed, a confirmation message will be displayed.
If any ink deposits are hanging from the nozzle cover, remove them with a dry cleaning applicator.
14. Press [OK].
When the cleaning is completed, a confirmation message will be displayed.
If solidified ink or lint is hanging from the nozzle cover, remove it with a dry cleaning applicator.
Press [YES] after checking that the nozzle cover is not stained.
Be careful not to touch the area indicated in red. Doing so may cause nozzle clogging.
IMPORTANT! Use a dry cleaning applicator. If the cleaning applicator is wet, cleaning liquid may enter the print head, causing print head failure.
15. Press [YES].
16. Remove the Head Cleaning JIG II from the platen.
17. Remove the absorber (Type P1) from the Head Cleaning JIG II.
Discard the used absorbers (Type P1)-do not reuse them.
18. Clean the Head Cleaning JIG II using a cloth.
19. Attach the platen and platen frame to the platen base.
